The Gift of the Seed: An Easter Parable

by: Kate Lee

An Easter Parable written and illustrated by award-winning artist Kate Lee.

This tender and beautifully illustrated picture book tells the story of Jesus who, as a small boy, plants a simple seed, unaware of the extraordinary journey it will take. As the tree grows, it witnesses the Jesus’s life unfold—from his childhood to his profound acts of love and kindness as a man.

But when the tree is cut down and shaped into the cross, it believes its purpose is over. Yet hope springs anew on the morning of the Resurrection, when the seed miraculously sprouts once more, symbolizing life, renewal, and eternal love.

With stunning illustrations by Kate Lee and a heartfelt narrative, The Gift of the Seed invites children and families to reflect on the powerful message of Easter—that through sacrifice comes redemption, and through faith, life blooms again. This parable will inspire readers of all ages with its timeless message of hope and renewal.
