Author Lisa Mangum Wins Benjamin Franklin Award

NEW YORK – Book Expo America held its annual Benjamin Franklin Award ceremony on June 8 and Utah-based author Lisa Mangum, author of the The Forgotten Locket, the last book in the Hourglass Doortrilogy, took first place in the category of Teen Fiction. The award was presented by the Independent Book Publishers Association.

Books one and two of this series, The Hourglass Door and The Golden Spiral, were crowned the 2009 and 2010 YA Fiction Book of the Year by ForeWord Reviews, and book two, The Golden Spiral, was awarded a silver medal at the 2011 Benjamin Franklin Awards for YA Fiction. The Forgotten Locket will be Mangum’s first gold medal Benjamin Franklin Award.

The Forgotten Locket is also up for ForeWord Magazine’s 2012 YA Book of the Year Award which will be announced on June 23 at the American Library Association conference (ALA).
